Nguni Cows

Denise's oil for her son in Australia
Brians Big Oil in his dining room 1000x1850
Here Iona wanted black and white cows.
These last few months I've been in my Nguni cow phase. These paintings feature the same herd of cows photographed in Lions River. I changed the colouring in a couple of them. All are oils on canvas. The biggest painting is 1000x1850. It was a mission for Bear to frame being so big. (the picture being big not Bear!)

Latest Oil

This is one I did of Bear as a Messianic Jew. The theme was 'we are parts of the body' (Body of Christ). It was one of the themes done by Art to Heart, the artist group at church. I got Bear to pose with my ironing cloth and painted that. Inspired by a painting by Elizabeth Robertson Campbell.
Oil on canvas. 1 Cor.12: 13,20

Latest Watercolour

This one I did for my sister. She had a watercolour in her office which I did years ago. Well, I felt I had moved on and was a bit embarrassed by it so I painted her a new watercolour.

Latest Paintings

After a year of trying to get reference for 'the Giant', Charles who ordered the picture, finally got a cloudless shot of the sleeping giant. Because it was overcast, I had to give blue skies. We did have a very small pic we took from Treverton school in Mooi River of the Giant, which helped with the colours and shades, so I didn't have to do any guesswork .

Acacia Tree Painting

This big canvas (1250mm wide) was commissioned by friends of ours, They were quite specific what they wanted. below is the pic completed and framed (by Bear).

Cow Pic

This Nguni cow (bull to be politically correct), Iona (our neighbour) commissioned me to do from a photo she liked. I ad-libbed the background and foreground.
